We are pleased to announce that stations can now renew their membership online via studentradio.org.uk
By becoming a member, you will be able to book tickets to the National Student Radio Conference, as well as entering and attending the Student Radio Awards. These are our two flagship events for the year that sees hundreds of students and industry professionals coming together to learn from each other, celebrate student radio together and recognise outstanding talent within our members.
The benefits don’t stop there, we also hold regional training days each year whereby members can meet local stations and develop relationships with the industry around them. Regional Officers are also elected to support their regional stations and are there to advise you throughout the year.
As a member, your station can also connect with other student stations around the UK through the Student Radio Chart Show. This is a weekly show hosted by a different station each week and gives presenters and producers the chance to work on a nationally networked show.
We are also extremely lucky to be able to offer all of our members free membership to the Radio Academy. Members of The Radio Academy benefit from being part of a group of peers and colleagues across the industry.
Membership to the SRA runs from Jan 1st to Dec 31st and costs just £70.00 + VAT for each station.
Individual Membership is also available for student's whose station is not signed up to the SRA. Please contact the Membership & Communications Officer for more details.
The SRA is a completely not-for-profit organisation. Everything we make in terms of membership, ticket sales and sponsorship monies goes directly towards covering the costs of our events and projects run throughout the year.
If you have any questions about membership, please don't hesitate to contact the SRA Membership and Communication Officer.
Renewal Steps to renew your membership:
(You will need to have admin rights for your station page, or be listed as the Station Manager to complete this process. If you need to update your admin level, please email the SRA Membership and Communication Officer )
1) Log on to studentradio.org.uk via the green box located at the top left of the website studentradio.org.uk
2) A red box should appear above the image rotator asking you to renew your membership. (This will only appear if you have the right admin level).
3) Click on your station name, which will link you to the renewal system. There you will need to log in using the same username and password for the main SRA site.
4) On the left hand side, select your station from the drop down menu and click ‘submit query’.
5) Then click on the green ‘Membership’ tab, and then ‘renew’.
6) You will then need to fill out and update your station information. On each section, you will need to tick the box ‘selection complete’ and press ‘Update’, before moving on to the following section.
7) Once all your sections are complete, you will have two options of how to pay. Either by invoice, or via PayPal. Once you have completed your payment, the process is complete!
If you are a new station to the SRA, please email the SRA Membership and Communication Officer to get your station set up on our membership system.
When completing membership renewal, you will be asked to make a payment for the membership fee.
There are currently two methods of payment that are accepted by the SRA:
Paypal
The SRA has a paypal account that we use to accept payments for membership, tickets to our events, etc. Payment through Paypal is by far the easiest way for us to receive payment for your membership, as it is instantaneous, and means that paperwork such as invoices don't get lost in your finance offices, or payment delayed.
Invoice
When you complete the membership renewal, you will either be able to pay straight away using Paypal, or you can request an electronic invoice. This will instantly generated on the screen for you. You must print the invoice off and hand it into your relevant finance office.
Please note:
Delays in payment may result in your being refused entry to the Student Radio Awards, or increased prices for tickets to the National Student Radio Conference.
